From the "Am I crazy or not?" sub-genre of horror/thriller flicks comes this tale of a man named Curtis (Michael Shannon of Bug, Dead Birds), who keeps on getting these apocalyptic visions of a massive storm. At first he keeps them to himself, but then starts acting out. First, he gets rid of his dog because he had a dream of it viciously biting his arm, then he loses his job after he borrows construction equipment to dig a tornado shelter in his back yard. He even thinks that he may be going crazy and visits his mother, who is schizophrenic and in a mental home. She was the same age when she first started hallucinating. Things come to a head when takes his wife and daughter down into the steel lined shelter and won't let them out after a few days. Is there really going to be a dangerous storm? Are their lives in danger and he's foreseeing some terrible event? This movie reminded me of Frailty. Recommended.
