A wealthy mystery novelist named Beatrice (Natalie Schafer of GILLIGANS ISLAND) purchases an infamous painting of the Grim Reaper. This painting is said to have a curse on it ever since its creator committed suicide over a hundred years before. Paul Graves, her nephew (William Shatner), shows up to warn her about this and begs her to get rid of it. She's a stubborn old lady and doesn't take him seriously. Then, one evening when there's a group of people gathered, Shatner touches the painting and his hand comes away with blood-a forewarning that someone in the house is going to die. They all take it a little more seriously from this point on.But all isn't as it seems-and mild mannered Paul Graves is up to some insidious. Anything with William Shatner in it, this is extremely entertaining, particularly in this instance when he becomes evil. The Grim Reaper from the painting is indeed after someone-and it turns out to be him. Least to say, the episode ends on a grim note.
