A take on the Edgar Allen Poe story, this episode takes place in the late 1800's and is about a wealthy guy who has an attack of catalepsy and is buried alive. He's unearthed just in time by his friend, Dr. Thorne (Boris Karloff). From that point on the man is terrified of being buried alive again, so he constructs a fail-proof burial vault which would allow him to escape if that happened. He wears a chain that says 'Do Not Bury Me' and also makes his wife, Victorine, promise not to bury him.Victorine, though, is in love with this artist Julian. She takes her older husband on a much needed vacation and he over exerts himself so that he has another one of those cataleptic attacks. Since they are in another country and no one knows about the previous burial, she has her husband buried locally. Months later, and back at home, she starts seeing him wandering the grounds. Is this really his spirit come to haunt her?I found this the least engaging of the THRILLER episodes I've seen. The story drags and I've seen so many variations on 'The Premature Burial' that is seemed like nothing new.
