This is one of the most satisfying time-travel movies I've seen. Just before JFK is about to take that fateful drive in Texas he's visited by a time traveller (Ralph Waite (the father on THE WALTONS)), who appears in his hotel room. The traveller explains what's going to happen-and shows them all the news footage of that tragic day. Once the exact time of the assassination happens-and Kennedy is still alive-the time traveller disappears because he just erased his own future. The movie skips back and forth from the 60's to the present day, where the space program continued and there are colonies on the moon. And we're shown how different the world becomes. Jack, Robert and Jackie Kennedy, worried that their time traveller will invent time travel again and undo everything, find out who the man is and set him on a very different career.A very cool movie.
