Ben (Colin Firth) wakes up from a coma after a car accident. He finds out that his wife is dead and that she's already been buried by her family. He moves to a new flat (this is England), where his landlady is Mena Suvari (AMERICAN PIE, AMERICAN BEAUTY). Around this time the body of a famous female pop star is found, murdered. The police do a re-enactment and Ben happens to walk through this. As it turns out, he's a prime suspect for the slaying-and it's revealed that he's been a stalker in his past-a stalker of this particular singer. Things continue to unravel for Ben-he can't think straight and he imagines that he's seeing his dead wife. Then, when Charlotte (Mena Suvari) takes him to a local psychic, she tells him that his wife isn't dead at all. Is Ben having a selective memory? Is his wife really dead? And, for that matter, is his more than understanding landlady a real person or a figment of his imagination? Is he a murderer? This is one of those movies where you're taken on a journey of what it is to be crazy, so it's not the most pleasant viewing experience. It does have a good, satisfying ending, though, as these types of movies usually don't.
