A young Australian couple, Beth and Harry, decide to take their holiday on a remote island that's amongst the Great Barrier Reef near Australia. They are staying for over a week. At first it's an ideal vacation--but then they see footprints in the sand that's not theirs and things begin to go missing. Beth gets really unnerved when she sees that someone took video of them sleeping with their own video camera. She wants to leave. But Harry thinks it's just some kids playing a practical joke on them and wants to pay them back. They come across an old shack with what appears to be a grave in the back--and then two Greek guys, who don't speak English, show up and make camp nearby. Harry thinks they are the ones doing the mischief-but they aren't. In fact, Harry swims to their boat, anchored just off the beach, and is knocked unconscious and dragged back to the island. When he awakens he's tied up and so is Beth, who is crying. One of the drunk Greeks looks as if he's about to rape her-then the other guy calls him off, to pursue something that he hears in the woods. While they are gone Harry manages to get them free. Meanwhile, one of the Greeks is injured and the other one drags him to their boat. They leave. Now, things get more strange. Beth finds a diary, which talks about the island being haunted by a native woman who was raped over a hundred years ago-and she becomes convinced it's a ghost. Is it just their imaginations or is there something supernatural going on?
UNINHABITED is an intriguing movie and it kept me from hitting the fast forward button. Recommended.
