In the early 1900's, on a farmhouse bordering an orchard, a man drowns his son in the bathtub-and is then shot by his wife for doing so. Seventy-five years later a subdivision is built over the grounds and a new house stands in the exact same spot as that farmhouse. The family that moves in is too ecstatic moving to Suburbia-why the hell do they want to live in similar looking houses? Anyways, the son and wife start seeing strange lights about the house. The woman believes it may be her child from the miscarriage six months before. It turns out to be the child that was drowned in the bathtub. There's also the evil entity of the father, who stays bound to the house rather than descending into hell. He gives the mother a few scares and almost kills her boy. She tries to explain to her husband what's going on but he thinks that she is crazy. When things start heating up and more poltergeist activity happens, he has her forcibly committed to the hospital. That's when he sees evidence of the ghosts and realizes that his wife was right all along. The movie has its moments but is all too familiar with the blood coming out of drains, the leaking walls, the flashing lights and animated toys. In fact, now that I think about it, it's almost exactly like POLTERGEIST, down to the wicked looking tree in the backyard and the house being built over graves!
