A guy gets his rich girlfriend Carole to finance an expedition to a forgotten island, where he wants to take some pictures--and get proof--that there are some dinosaurs that are still alive. They secure the services of a ship, through Capt Tarnowski, though you know he'll be up to no good later on.
There is one man, John Fairbanks, who was on the island before and he witnessed his companions being eaten by the carnivores before escaping on a life-raft. An attraction starts between him and Carole, though her boyfriend doesn't put up much of a fight about this. When someone asks her if she'll be afraid of the island she says "I'll be safe, I'll have men with me".
This is basically a pale remake of KING KONG and THE LOST WORLD with very poor dinosaur effects. The brontosaurs look okay, though they are clearly miniatures and the dimetrodon is the best looking creature. I think this is the only time I've ever seen this dinosaur in a movie before, except maybe YOR: HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE. However, the T-Rexes and Carnatosaur are all guys in costumes as is the giant ape that I think is supposed to be a giant ground sloth, though it's carnivorous.
