A woman vet (Kelly Lynch) and her teenaged son move to a small town to get away from the troubles of the big city. But when her son joins a cult, led by a mysterious handyman named Brandon Nichols (Edward Furlong), she indeed thinks her relocation is a big mistake. In fact, many of the townspeople start following this guy, especially when he starts to cure their illnesses and physical handicaps. She joins up with an ex-Reverend (Martin Donovan) and they discover exactly where these miraculous powers come from. This is a creepy, well-acted movie and the "twist-ending" works well, though it's not entirely unexpected.
