This fictionalized account of man's first journey to the planets is done in a documentary style. Five astronauts from the International community (3 men, 2 women) are sent on a seven year voyage, first visiting Venus, then Mars, the moons of Jupiter, the Ring of Saturn and Pluto, at the end of our solar system. Interviews with the astronauts and earthbound technicians are interspersed with events from the journey, some of which are extremely harrowing. In fact, not everyone makes it back. The fact-based (in terms of the science) script, good performances and realistic special effects makes this a very convincing two hours-and makes you wish humanity would focus more of its efforts on space travel than the time wasting activities broadcast daily on CNN.
