A trio of blonde women are to be sacrificed by a tribe because of the color of their hair. There's some weird solar activity and a strong wind comes up. One woman makes a break for it but she plunges to hear death over the nearby cliff. Another woman, Sanna (Victoria Vetri) is blown over as well but she survives the fall into the ocean. She's then rescued by a raft of fishermen. They take her back their beach village--and see that they've captured a plesiosaur. Of course, it gets free of the net and they have to fight the creature. One of the men, Tara, is quite taken with Sanna and blatantly ignores his brunette girlfriend, who is understandably jealous. So when Sanna's tribe comes looking for her, this woman is quick to point her out--and she flees into the wilderness. She's pursued but manages to lose them. Now, alone in the jungle, she's almost crushed by a python and nearly devoured by a carnivorous plant. To get away se has to cut off some of her hair, which Tara later finds when he goes looking for her. He thinks that she's dead. A storm arises and Sanna takes cover in a recently hatched dinosaur eggshell. In the morning the mother dinosaur comes back and thinks that she's its offspring and drops a deer at her feet. There is a baby dinosaur, who she plays with and trains. Time goes by. Eventually Tara finds her, and sees that she can control the great beast. There's also scenes with the tribe fighting a Styracosaurus and Tara narrowly getting away from a flying reptile, which takes him up to its nest. In the end, there's a cataclysm--not an earthquake but a giant tidal wave, which kills everyone but a few people.
This dinosaur movie is slightly more complicated than Hammer's ONE MILLION YEARS B.C, though it basically follows the same plot. Recommended.
