The Amazon army, led by a resurrected Queen Hippolyta, appears in Washington DC and begins killing people, even small children. They are ruthless. Circe, a powerful witch who had been their enemy for thousands of years is now helping them. Is Hippolyta under her spell? And how will Wonder Woman deal with her war hungry mother? Superman and the Justice League are there to help in the fight but it's too much, even for them.
I think this mini-series had spread through several other DC Comics titles, like WONDER WOMAN, so inbetween each chapter is a summation of what had been going on and also background information for context of this main story. It was fine and not too distracting. What I like about it is that it's direct and has dire consequences for them in the end. And just when you think one person (or god) is responsible we learn it's something else entirely.
