Yes, the premise of this graphic novel sounds truly absurd-yet it works surprisingly well, both as an Archie and as a Predator story. After Jughead wins a promotional trip to a luxury beach resort in South America, the Riverdale gang heads down there for some fun. Of course this is also where a Predator ship lands. On board is a teenaged alien who is on the hunt. But it seems like it's one of his first hunts-and begins killing anyone holding a potential weapon. The Predator has his eye on them all, so when a few friends go missing in the nearby jungle they decide to head back to their hometown-and the alien stows away in some luggage. Characters, like Sabrina the Teenaged Witch, get killed in some very gory ways. Probably, the most disturbing death is Jug Head's. Of course, there's jealously between Betty and Veronica over Archie, while all this is happening, but they manage to come to an agreement about their feelings by the end of the tale. There's also an Archie robot and an unexpected ending.
The artwork is done in the original style of the old Archie comics, which suits the book well and makes it rather disturbing when the carnage is depicted. ARCHIE Vs. PREDATOR is a very entertaining read. Highly recommended.
