In this sequel to H.G.Well's 1896 novel, it's decades after the events of that story and the Nazi's have found that uncharted island and are doing experiments on their own, to create an army of animal men. It turns out that Well's novel was based on a real-life vivisectionist. So when it's discovered that this is real, a team of agents is sent to intercept the Germans. And the man they approach to lead them there, a man who had been there over thirty-years before, is Edward Prentiss. This works out for Prentiss because he's been having dreams/nightmares about the island and this will finally give him closure on it. In those decades the animal people, Homo Anamalia, have organized their own tribes and now they have to deal with humans and the Nazi created creatures.
This is a great follow-up to the original story and I could see this being a continued series. Highly recommended.
