The second kick-ass Beast House book by Richard Laymon picks up a couple years where the ultra-classic The Cellar left off. I personally dug the fact that we got to see what has become of a few old friends and loose ends from that book. The Beast House is still alive and well, something still prowls the night, killing and raping anyone unfortunate enough to cross its path. I ain't givin' away any plot details here, suffice to say that this book and The Cellar are must haves in your horror fiction collection. This book doesn't pack quite as much of a punch as The Cellar, but it is still awesome! The origin of the beast(s) gets revealed here, as do a few other shocking truths. The whole premise of a haunted attraction that really is a bloody slaughterhouse makes me giddy. But, there's more here than just blood. A twisted sexual undertone rides here, that is until the twisted sex is pushed right in your face. You WILL NOT be disappointed. You don't really need to have read The Cellar to enjoy Beast House, but it does make it more fun. This thing is fun, sick, and cool. Laymon is only now being seen for the master that he truly was.
