Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 9: Volume 1 (2012)

The Buffy saga continues this "season" in a world without magic. There's definitely a rift between her and Willow, who no longer has her witch powers. However, if a creature has magic within it, it still has powers. And Buffy herself has seen better days. She wakes up with a hangover, has demons harassing her to collect payment for her student loan, and is sort of aimless. In town, someone is killing people. The detective in charge thinks that they are vampires and that somehow Buffy is responsible--but everyone knows that if you kill a vampire they go "poof!", leaving no remains behind. But when the police check the identity of some of them--these young people should be old. There is someone killing vampires--and he's doing it in a very unique way. Oh, and the vampires that are created in this new world are mindless, animal-like creatures since demons no longer possess their bodies, like back in the magic days. So they basically have no "demon soul". The book ends with a HUGE revelation, that will definitely change everything in Buffy's world (and what I think can be a HUGE mistake for the series as well...). Again, these comic-book adventures are a great continuation of the television series. Recommended.
