Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child's newest novel is probably their most disappointing, primarily because it seems so familiar, like watching a rerun. It's surprisingly like the movie THE NIGHT STRANGLER (the second Karl Kolchak movie) Not quite a sequel it does use characters first introduced in THE RELIC and in THUNDERHEAD and again involves the New York Natural History Museum. The plot is about a serial killer in the late 1890's and a string of killings in present day New York that are identical. Could it be the same killer? Not a lot of surprise here....
