The first part of this graphic novel takes place while the original Jurassic Park was being created on Isla Nublar, with Mister Hammond having hired the traitor Dennis (who had stolen the dinosaur egg in the shaving can in the first movie). Basically, it shows how unhappy the guy is. Then, in "Genesis", there's another foreshadowing tale when we're introduced to the lawyer character (who had gotten eaten in the first flick), as he witnesses the hatching of a certain T-Rex. The main storyline, RAPTOR and RAPTOR'S ATTACK, deal with the vicious Raptors. It's only a few days after the events of JURASSIC PARK and Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler are helping clean the mess up and overseeing the containment of the dinosaurs. While searching for a hidden Raptor nest they encounter a hunter, George Lawala, who is after the same thing. He's been paid to capture some of the rare creatures--and ends up kidnapping the two scientists as well. They awaken on a cargo airplane, where it's explained that they're needed to help train/control the beasts. Everything goes awry and the plane crashes into the South American jungle. Grant wakes up in a bed--with a broken leg--and discovers he's being held captive by a drug lord, who wants to use the raptors as "guard dogs". They eventually escape--the the Raptors, and that poses all sorts of problems.
I enjoyed this story because it goes in a completely different direction than the official JURASSIC PARK sequel, THE LOST WORLD. At the same time the continuity could fit between those two movies. Recommended.
