This is the sequel to the Red Sonja team-up. Claw has regenerated the inhuman claw that Sonja cut off. A beautiful blonde witch materializes and tells him that he can rid himself of the claw at the gate of sorrows--and not having anything better to do, he begins his travels there. The witch sends three rogues to accompany him, two men and one woman--and she's a redhead, like Sonja. However, there's something not quite right about them and he eventually discovers they are werewolves. The witch has promised them that they'll no longer be cursed to change back and forth between man and beast--and they want to remain beasts!
What Claw doesn't know is that the appendage that was cut off has grown a new body, which looks like his twin, only with fangs. And of course, there's a battle between the two of them, which happens when they finally reach the gate. The witch desires to return the old gods to this world and they are Cthulhu-like squiggly creatures. The "good guys" battling against them are a legion of blind/deaf/mute warrior monks.
I enjoyed this much more than the RED SONJA/CLAW crossover story. It's far more violent, has some horrific images and ends on a completely negative note.
It reminded me of those Hercules and Goliath movies from the 60's, like GOLIATH VS. THE VAMPIRES. Recommended.
