Volume 2 concerns an entirely new cast of survivors dealing with the Crossed--people infected with a virus that makes them completely insane. These infected develop a cross-like rash on their faces--and want to literally f*ck you as they kill you. The main characters are a family who own a horse farm. There's the father, mother, and ten siblings, ranging from kids to adults. However, the father has been having sex with the teenaged daughters. When Adaline, the eldest, confronts him about fooling around with her sister, he beats her. The mother pretends nothing is going on. But their father is a man who is able to keep them all alive, so they put up with it. They have to flee the family farm when they are attacked--and then establish a new home in a mountain valley, called "New Paradise". They grow their own food and set out booby traps for the crazies. After one of the daughters is infected and the father nearly kills Adaline, the mother has a breaking point and infects herself, which ultimately endangers them all.
There are plenty of graphic scenes, such as when a pregnant Crossed cuts out her own baby, or mob scenes with them screwing anything in sight, including decapitated heads. If you enjoyed Volume 1, you'll enjoy 2.
