The crew of the Pegasus go back in time, to the end of the Age of the Dinosaurs, and encounter another group of time travellers from an alternate-history Earth. These beings, The Heesh, are descended from the dinosaurs and come from a world where mammals didn't develop beyond vermin. There's culture conflict, some Heesh who want to kill the humans because of the threat to their way of life, and some friends who want to embrace these strange humans as allies.
