This is an exciting, action packed horror novel that never lets up! The writing is clear, crisp, and razor sharp. The setpieces and dramatics are laced with action sequences that will leave you breathless! The story? Think in movie terms: THE HIDDEN morphed with THE EXORCIST. Long Island Detective Gavin Pierce is hot on the trail of a serial killer 'terrorist' who kidnaps people and takes them for a joyride in their own vehciles after getting them drunk. The joyride includes using their wheels as a weapon---ramming into large crowds of people, buildings, and boats! The killer, known as Krogan, always escapes the scene of the crime, but the owner of the vehicle usually bites the bullet.Detective Pierce's grandfather is killed in one of the incidents and he'll stop at nothing to get his psycho! He teams up with a family member of another victim and the trail leads them to a Preacher who's hiding out because he has dealt with this killer before---when he had a different human 'host' to accomplish his nasty deeds! That should whet your appetite for more right there, eh? Things get really twisted from there...There's a lot of cliches in this book (like the hardnosed reporter who gets involved, the female that teams up with the cop and their subsequent romance) but it never drags the story down. It all feels fresh and the action setpieces are incredible---there's a 30 page boat chase that'll have you turning the pages as fast as you can and another scene at an airport involving a Lear Jet that will blow your mind! The suspense and the way everything is tied together with 'evil' as defined in the Bible really work, and I'm telling you, parts of this book really rattled me in an EXORCIST sort of way. If you want your horror mixed with suspense and action, this book really delivers everything you could possibly want. W.G. Griffiths spins an awesome and entertaining yarn here! Be sure to check it out! The ending was REALLY CLEVER, too...For more info, go to www.WGGriffiths.com
