Detective Sato wants to bring down the Takahashi crime syndicate but he's captured and taken out on a boat to a remote island. Before they can shoot him he escapes. But where is he? It turns out that he's on Monster Island, home of The King of the Monsters. In fact, as he's first pursued through the jungle he almost runs into Godzilla's foot. Before he's squashed Mothra makes an appearance-- but he's knocked out. When he awakens he finds himself in the House of Elias, where he's greeted by two monk-like guys. They care for the two women fairies who control Mothra. With their help he makes his way off Monster Island and goes back to Japan, determined to bring down the gangsters he was after. But the Elias do not want to help him in his agenda, saying "The affairs of man are only the smallest aspect of a far larger domain". Things get worse once Godzilla appears-- because he's broken the balance and brought Mothra back to civilization, Godzilla had followed. Things get worse as other monsters appear-- Rodan, the giant spider Kumonga, Battra and Anguiras. Ultimately, Detective Sato gets into older version of MechaGodzilla, not just to stop Godzilla but to finish off crime lord Takahashi.
