This graphic novel features five different stories, each of a different Godzilla foe. In "The Underdog" Anguiras fights Destoroyahi. In "Lifespan" has Rodan tries to retrieve a stolen egg. The Titanosaurus story features the ape-like aliens first seen in The Terror of Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla once again battles the smog monster, Hedorah in "The Smog of War". However, my favorite story is the last, featuring the giant spider, Kumonga. In this tale an extreme sports guy climbs Godzilla's body, from tail to head, and encounters some strange animals that coexist on the massive monster. And he has to hang on for his life when the King of the Monsters battles the gigantic arachnid.
What I like about this book (and most Godzilla books) is that the stories aren't limited by budget and effects, as they are in the movies. It makes the Hedorah and Anguiras tales particularly effective. Highly recommended.
