Seth Kohn and his girlfriend, Judy Parker, move into a renovated old house in Maryland. What they don't realize is that the town harbors a secret that dates back over a hundred years, a secret that has to do with the Jewish community and a creature they've summoned for revenge. This, of course, is the golem, a creature made out of bones and clay. Seth and Judy had met in an addict recovery program-- he had become an alcoholic because of the death of his wife and she was addicted to cocaine. He's a millionaire from designing a popular video game. She has a past that she doesn't want Seth to discover.
As with the majority of Lee novels there's plenty of gore, inbred, redneck characters and a heap of sleaze. I was getting accustomed to Lee's novels tying together--such as the CITY INFERNAL books, so this was a throwback to his stand alone books, like GHOUL and CREEKERS. Recommended.
