This is an entertaining new monster series from Vertigo comics, about a young woman named Gwen Dylan, who works in Eugene, Oregon, as a gravedigger. She mentions her former life a bit, which soon makes sense when we realize that she's actually a zombie. She buries bodies during the day only to dig them up late at night in order to eat brains, which taste utterly disgusting. If she doesn't consume them she goes all "Night of the Living Dead". One unique side-effect, which I've never seen before in movies or print, is that she then remembers all of her meal's memories--and in the most recent case, the guy's murder.
Gwen's best friend is a blonde ghost from the 1940's and also with Scott, who she calls "Spot" since he's a were-terrier when the moon is full. And, of course, some monster hunters are introduced, who I am sure will make trouble for the trio in future issues.
I recommend I ZOMBIE, especially if you're a fan of comics HACK/SLASH or TV series BUFFY: THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.
