This sequel to the amazing first graphic novel, I'd say, is much more intense. First, villain Red Mist has gone completely insane, putting all his money and resources into creating a massive Supervillain team to kill Kick-Ass and Hit Girl. He wants revenge at all costs--and stages a riot in Times Square, where a lot of innocents die...
Kick-Ass gets sucked back into the Super-hero thing when he's introduced to a "Justice-League" type of team, Justice Forever. It consists of people who lost their kids or had a murdered relative. There's even a kid from Lizewski's school who thought it would be cool to join. The leader is an older soldier-type guy with a trained dog. What happens to him is truly horrible....
This is one of those books in which the character's situation gets worse and worse, so that's sort of downer. Yet, it's a great read--and hooks you for the third volume, which should have tons of paypack on Kick-Ass' part. Highly recommended.
