Alan, a man with brain cancer, with three weeks to live, intervenes in a mugging and gets shot in the head. The doctors open up his skull and there's tentacle like growths...a woman named Sarah breaks in, staples his head together as a group of men try to stop her from taking him out. She defeats him and take off in her car. Then, leader of the men shows up, perturbed that "the Malignant One" escaped. Once they get to safety he questions the woman and she tells him that he doesn't have cancer--and that what he does have is what's keeping him alive..
