written by Neil Gaiman
I'm not the biggest fan of Neil Gaiman , but I found this very intriguing and quite clever how he was able to take these modern Superhero characters and make them fit, so seemlessly, into the 17th Century. For example, Nicholas Fury is a secret agent for Her Magesty while Dr. Stefan Strange is her doctor. The Fantastic Four were explorers on a sailing ship that got exposed to radioactivity and Doom is still their, and England's, enemy.
A young girl, accompanied by a white Indian named Roghaz, arrive in England to get help for their colony back in North America and as it turns out they are somehow responsible for these superheroes appearing centuries earlier than they are supposed to.
If you're looking for something different then you should check this out. It is weird and satisfying.
