The newest from Edward Lee has it all-a mysterious archeological dig with a surprising, horrorific find, drug addicted rednecks, oversexed female protagonists and giant, mutated creatures. After being homeless for a year after being dishonorably discharged (and framed) from the Air Force, Clare Prentiss is offered an unbelievable job as Security Chief at a government research facility in the wilds of Florida. She's told that they are doing research on a cancer cure-but what's really going on is far more diabolical. Let's just say it starts affecting the local wildlife-and feeding on the local rednecks who trespass onto the property. And, oh, there's a certain demonic creature as well, which has a tie to Clare's recent past.As with other Lee books this is a fast read and he doesn't disappoint. Like Richard Laymon novels, though, it's sort of a guilty pleasure-horrible things happen to the people yet you can't help but read on. MONSTROSITY does not disappoint. From Leisure Books.
