Doctor Stephen Strange lost his mastery over his mystic powers when he used dark magic to save the Avengers during the Skrull Secret Invasion War. Now, he's disappeared from the public eye. What he is doing is searching for his successor. We first see him in Dover, New Jersey, where he finds Billy from the Young Avengers. Over breakfast he discusses his search and how he thought Jennifer Kale may be the one, but wasn't. And that there's a possibility Dr Victor Von Doom could be the new Sorcerer Supreme. But the Doctor's story is cut short with the appearance of the Hood, who gets his power from Dr. Strange's arch enemy. Strange fights him and escapes to the Avenger's hideout in Brooklyn, NY, where they offer to help him. The Eye of Agamotto leads them to New Orleans, where there many possible recipients. It was a really big surprise, at least to me, who the new Sorcerer Supreme will be, yet it's very cool.
I haven't read a Dr. Strange story since the 80's but this has rekindled my interest. Damn.
