This short novella; it runs only 180 pages, makes a good book for the Halloween time of year. In the town of Orangefield, the pumpkin reigns supreme and Halloween is the biggest time of the year for this small town. But, the town also houses a secret and the Celtic lord of the Dead, Samhain, is trying to make sure this Halloween a destiny is fulfilled. He's got something up his sleeve and three suicides on Halloween hold the key to opening up a world of darkness into ours. A librarian with a secret from the past is the only one who can save the day, maybe. I liked the whole idea and style of this book. Needed a bit more action and this really would have been cool in full-length form, but overall it's good and does pack a few nasty scenes and creepy momentsl. It could have been better paced I think, but I smell a sequel for sure, as Samhain will surely be back.
