It's twenty-years after the events of THE FALL. Semos reveals to Thados, his oldest son, that all the humans haven't been killed off-and shows him the forbidden knowledge of the Oberon. He then gives him and his younger brother Zaius a mission to start a new colony, far away from the Ape City. Zaius thinks the journey is to do just that-but Thados has an ulterior motive and will do anything to obtain it. There's a lot of squabbling between the two siblings and at one point they try to kill each other. Then, they come upon the more violent inhabitants native to their world, reptilian creatures very similar to dinosaurs. In fact, they inadvertently come upon a lizard city and realize they are no match. The ending left me eagerly looking forward to the next installment of this series by William T. Quick. Apes and dinosaurs-can't go wrong!!
