Author: Jeffrey Anderson, M.D.
This is about an experimental group of chimps that are gentically modified to be more intelligent. The story centers around a woman biologist who stumbles upon the scientists' compound in the amazon and is then hired by that same company. There is very little characterization, stock characters, stiff dialogue about 'being god' that comes off like a na Żve high school philosophical debate. And the chimps aren't likeable, which I think is a big problem since the readers who will probably pick this book up probably have an interest in apes.
F. Paul Wilson's SIMS, which deals with a similar theme, is a far better read.
