I've always thought this was a great idea for a comic book series, one-part Conan, one-part Star Wars. Torin MacQuillon is a Celtic Warrior during the time of the Roman Empire. While he's in the midst of battle-and about to be killed-he's transported thousands of years into the future by a woman named Tamara, who has a mission for him. He's missing an eye from battle but gets a cybernetic one-and is also hooked up to a monkey-like robot who quickly supplies him with information, such as speaking the current language. They travel in a ship called the Jolly Roger, which resembles a pirate ship. Basically, their mission is to save mankind at the expense of a long-used up Earth. The majority of the time Torin is unhappy and wants to return to his own time period. Until Tamara tells him why he can't go back. Not only will he be killed but it will change the time-line so that she no longer exists. You see, Torin's Celtic wife survived and had a child with a Roman officer-Tamara's distant ancestor. If you're a fan of Grell's WARLORD and JON SABLE series, you'll like this. Recommended. Re-publishes the original 1982 six issue run.
