I found this second comics series to be far better than the first and it ties in directly with the end of Season Three/Beginning of Season four, concerning Sam Winchester's abilities. Yes, the demon named Lilith was after him way back when, one of the reasons why their father kept them on the road. The story ends just prior to the first episode of the first season and definitely adds more subtext to the series.
What did NOT work in the last issue (#6) is the short "GHOSTFACERS in THE BEAST WITH TWO BACKS", written by Eric Kripke. It just was not funny and did not fit with the rest of the story.
