This continues the epic story begun in HIERO'S JOURNEY. The Brotherhood of the Unclean is out to destroy Hiero, as they realize he has a power that may destroy them. He's now married and is the son-in-law of the King of the southern kingdom of D'alway (Delaware). Traitors in the kingdom kidnap him and he's drugged so that his telepathic powers are burned away. Now, all alone and weaponless he has to face all the unknown perils of a savage desert he finds himself in. And on his journey he encounters an ally who was born at the beginning of the Holocaust, an ancient and unlikely creature who may be able to help him win the war.
This sequel is as good as the first book, if not better.
