It's 2150 and America has put together a team of highly qualified astronauts and military personnel to colonize Venus and "make America great again". They are all aboard the Mayflower. But something has gone wrong right before the scheduled landing on the terraformed planet-and Commander Pauline Manashe is at the controls. They manage to crash land with the hull intact but the captain and a few others are dead, so that Pauline now becomes acting captain.. Also, they've landed on a brittle lava cliff, which may collapse and plummet them to their deaths 4 kilometers below. Also, the ships reactor is going to melt and they have to evacuate the ship in the rovers. Fortunately they landed close to base Augustine, which was previously sent there, though they have no idea what condition it's in. At the end of issue #1 they find it a ruin and are greeted by a barely functioning robot.
This first issue from Boom! Studios has me hooked. Recommended.
