Most of you readers are probably too young to remember Hanna Barbera's WACKY RACELAND cartoon from Saturday Mornings. That show featured such characters as Penelope Pittstop, Dick Dastardly and talking dog Muttly. In this "re-imagining" of that classic cartoon, all is set in an apocalyptic world akin to MAD MAX or the remake of DEATHRACE 2000. Each driver has been chosen to be a racer by an omniscient voice and given a sentient car. They have to brave mutants and other hazards along the way. And there's a great payoff at the end as to the reason they are in this crazy dangerous race to begin with. As with the recent, grittier versions of The Flintstones and Scooby Doo, this is a good read. Highly recommended.
