This first issue of the comic based on the Ray Harryhausen movie CLASH OF THE TITANS successfully captures both the look and feel of that film. It's five years later and King Perseus and his queen now have a son. But not everyone is happy with him and he ends up battling the Hydra, which looks exactly like the Hydra depicted in Harryhausen's JASON & THE ARGONAUTS. At the end of the first issue it's also revealed that his goat-headed enemy from the first film is also somehow alive.
I thought it cool that the comic ties in to the other Harryhausen creations, as the cover also sports a picture of the cyclops from SEVENTH VOYAGE OF SINBAD. Also in the same issue are pictures of original sketches by Ray Harryhausen, from an unmade Sinbad move. This is too cool.
