After the disbandment of the AVENGERs a new group appears with similar powers. They are Lt. America, Hulkling, Asgardian and Iron Lad, all teenaged superheroes who resemble their counterparts. Of course, the newspaper starts callng them THE YOUNG AVENGERS. They come from a thousand years in the future to prevent Kang from taking over the world. In fact, Iron Lad IS the younger version of Kang, who wants to prevent himself from becoming a supervillain.
This is sort of like RUNAWAYS crossed with LEGION OF SUPERHEROES.
