young babysitter Amanda arrives at the Lloyd residence to spend the evening looking after their young son. Soon after the Lloyds leave, a series of frightening occurrences in the gloomy old house have Amanda's nerves on edge. Among horror fans this film is considered the first film to come up with the popular horror convention of a lone babysitter terrorized by a psychotic murderer. The film was originally released in America on double bill with the film The Sorcerers (1967), which also featured actress Susan George.
