The truth is out there... we're just not entirely sure where.
Weapon-wielding psychopaths, evil temptresses, creatures from beyond, forces of the unknown, zombie sex... and a journalist without a clue.
Movie Quote(s):
Journalist: Lovecraft was born in Providence Road Island on August 20th, 1890. This... is not his home.
70's Journalist: Sure he's a bad journalist! Sure he likes to pound the asses of young boys from time to time... and who doesn't? But, he's still a human being. And more importantly... he's an American.
Sci-fi Nerd: Steven King likes H.P. Lovecraft... and I love me some Steven King!
Journalist: [off camera] Tell us your impressions of H.P. Lovecraft, Ma'am. Suburban Mom: Okay. Uhh... He was a super guy, and did all these really super things... and helped... staving children in Africa and he was just like super duper!
Movie Trivia:
Director Elias' original short film "LovecraCked!" was the inspiration and basis for what would later become "LovecraCked! The Movie".
The opening swamp scene of the movie was originally intended to take place in a marsh in the south of Germany. When the location fell through it was decided that it would be more in keeping with the film's often self-deprecatory style of humor to change the setting of the scene to a kiddie pool in someone's backyard.
The makeshift dummy (fondly nick-named "Gary Oldman" for his unwavering commitment to his role) was constructed primarily out of a department store bouncy ball, a basket ball, a couple of water noodles, some juggling balls (for joints) and a lot of duct tape. While the dummy was being thrown over the lookout railing of the Walhalla temple in Germany, a group of Austrian tourists were watching off camera and shouting encouragement as attempt after attempt was made to hurl poor Gary over the edge without "hurler" Elias' arms being caught on camera. Ultimately his arms could still be seen in the footage, so they were removed digitally in post. Gary the Dummy eventually immigrated to the United States in a cardboard box and now resides safely in Elias' closet.
