They kidnap his daughter and will trade her back if he gives them the book. That won't happen with Lupin the 3rd up to prevent a valuable book fall in the hands of terrorists.

- The film is meant to allude to the AUM cult.

The very ending of the movie had a tribute that said "To Yasuo Yamada, Eternal Lupin the Third: Thank you!". But it wasn't included in the US release of the movie.

The fourth animated theatrical Lupin the 3rd movie.

This was the first Lupin anime besides "The Fuma Conspiracy" OVA to not have Yasuo Yamada as Lupin the 3rd. Due to his death, his role was given to Kanichi Kurita.
