  • Mark London: [Mark and Pam are at the darkened and empty police station discussing their next move] I want to check out the dorm again. Pam MacDonald: [referring to the Prowler] You really think he might still be there. Mark London: Right now, that's all we have to do on. Pat Kingsley: [they attempt to leave but are stopped when a drunk Kingsley walks in] Well... looke here. [referring to the sheriff] Pat Kingsley: George left you in charge here! Can't you keep those damn kids under control? Mark London: What're you doing here, Kingsley? Pat Kingsley: It's... that damn graduation thing. We haven't had any trouble in that cottage for more than 30 years... now somebody has to start that damn thing over again. Pam MacDonald: What do you mean? Pat Kingsley: There's a bunch of kids over there in the cemetary... I know what they're doing in there. Mark London: Yeah, well what are they doing in there? Pat Kingsley: Well... it was dark. [stuttering] Pat Kingsley: I co-couldn't see anything. Mark London: Well, if you couldn't see anything, why don't you just go home. Pat Kingsley: [slurring] Suurrre. But that gate was wiiiiiide open.
  • The Prowler: [synthesized] i want you to be my date, Rose.
Movie Trivia:
  • With the exception of the final unmasked shot, the role of the Prowler was played entirely by assistant director 'Peter Giuliano'.
  • Tom Savini considers this to be his best work.
  • Farley Granger was cast in the film because an investors wife happened to know him through an acting class she was taking.
  • Director Joseph Zito once told a guard at a movie theater, where the film was being screened, that he had made The Prowler. To this the guard responded 'you really DID kill those people, right?!'.
  • The house used for Major Chatham's house was actually a museum. The furniture in the house was all antique and the owners would only allow a skeleton crew to shoot inside the location.
