Q: So who is Kevin Forte, and what are his films all about?
My name is Kevin Forte, and my message is to bring back horror to Horrorwood. Looks like not much creativity in horror these days, unless it's indie. All these remakes are coming out. I know we had remakes before. However, it's going over the top. I just want to bring in new things that haven't been seen before which will bring in more horror fans. Hollywood is afraid to touch new ideas. But I like to see where it goes.
Q: Tell us about Orlock and The Last Laugh Projects! I love the imagery in Orlock.
The idea of "Orlock" came when my friend who plays Graf Orlock (Michael Licatese) bought this mask and wanted to film something with it. I couldn't do anything yet until I had an idea for it. I didn't want to make a funny video. So one day I had an idea about an obsess woman who wants Orlock to make her into one of his children of the night. Plus I knew that the only way to make this right was to give it the black & white and silent treatment like the 1922 classic film, "Nosferatu." I had fun working on it. May do a sequel soon. Same friend had a story about a character that he created, which is Heckler the Demonic Clown, and wanted me to make a short out of it. Since I love evil clowns myself I said I'll make a short film about your character. That film which is "Last Laugh". He put his faith in me because he knows that I can bring that character and story to his liking. The sequel will be filming soon sometime this year.
Q: How is filming going lately? What profane visions haunt your sleep?
"Last Laugh 2" should be filming soon. However, I'm just raising the rest of the cash for it. I wanted to film it this summer. But it's going to either be late summer or fall. I have other projects as well that I want to make. One is about serial killer talking about their gruesome murders during a poker game. But the one I really want to make is my horror web series about 2 demonic sin reapers named Jared Scrimm and Pandora Craine. What haunts me sleeps? Pretty much nothing these days.
Q: What do you have to say to a new audience of horror starved fiends?
