Michelle Mary Elizabeth Winstead of FINAL DESTINATION 3), fleeing from a bad relationship, gets in a car accident along a country road. When she awakens she finds herself captive in an underground bunker along with Emmett, who was also abducted. Their captor, Howard (John Goodman) insists that some disaster has happened above ground and that he's keeping them safe and alive. Eventually he lets the two have free reign of the underground shelter because there's no way to get out. Or is there? The movie makes you go back and forth believing whether or not there really is some type of disaster or if Howard is really crazy. Well, it's no surprise but it's both.
For all the hype and the "Cloverfield" in the title, which makes it seem it's a sequel to the much superior CLOVERFIELD movie, this is basically just another movie about people stuck in a bomb shelter. Eh.
