I had some decent hopes for this movie, but damn it was boring! As with most recent Stephen King adaptations, it sucks. I mean there was a decent enough story, but the whole thing just wasn't very exciting at times. Most of the scares come from loud, sudden noises and the sadness dealing with the author's child's death. Other than that, it's pretty much cookie cutter. I hoped there would be more supernatural stuff or that avenue would be explored more, or perhaps the rooms origins. No dice. Granted, it's a tough job to make a scary flick using one room and one guy, but this should have been better. At least have Samuel L. Jackson bust in and say he's had it with these snakes in this motherfuckin' room! Remember the days when a film based on a Stephen King story excited you?? The one thing I did enjoyed was seeing the author change his tone very quickly about the supernatural. Wasn't enough to change my opinion on this movie though.
