I've always liked this movie, as it is entertaining, though it does repeat the plot of both HOUSE OF DRACULA and HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN. For some reason Dracula (Bela Lugosi finally reprising his role) wants to resurrect the Frankenstein Monster and gets an evil woman scientist to help him in his endeavors in Florida. But Larry Talbot shows up, trying to stop Dracula from doing this. However, the comic duo get caught up in this monster mayhem, as they want to transplant Costello's brain into the body of the monster, so he'll be easy to control.
In terms of continuity it does not quite fit as a sequel to the other two, as Talbot has his werewolf curse back and there's the same preoccupation with Dracula resurrecting the monster. There's also some obvious goofs, such as when Dracula (Bela Lugosi) bites the villainess and we see his reflection on the mirror or when the Frankenstein Monster walks into flames, rather than fleeing from them.
Although this was the last of the monster team-ups the story is continued in book form with Jeff Rovin's extremely entertaining RETURN OF THE WOLFMAN.
