Once again it's the post nuclear world gone to hell as the setting for another film. Some astronauts come back to earth just in time to find out it's been turned into a shitty looking painting of wrecked buildings, oops I mean that it has been ravaged by a nuclear holocaust. People in thrift store clothes run around trying to avoid mutants, each other, and a group of wackos led by Sid Haig. The bloodthirsty gang kills the men and kidnaps all the women and kids it can find, even the chick with really pointy nipples. Our astronauts help fight the gang and save the day, kinda. It has sort of a sad ending. The highlight here is really the gory as hell shootings and stabbings. One old guy gets his teeth knocked out with the butt end of a rifle before being gunned down. It has a little nudity and some almost rape scenes. Forrest J. Ackerman has a cameo as well. Most of these post nuke 'em films are all action where as this one focuses more on developing the story. This is a decent film really, not for all, but good for this type of movie.
